Consistency of worship, great preaching, gorgeous music and the incorporation of our children into the worship are hallmarks of our youth ministries.
Christian Formation classes and youth group programs are launched on the second Sunday in September (“Rally Day”) each year. These programs take children who’ve outgrown Godly Play into a more age-appropriate youth ministry and fellowship opportunity.
Christian Formation classes: The Children’s and Youth Ministries announced some restructuring that began on Rally Sunday in 2016. The group has created a new class for our 4th and 5th grade students. This new class will fall under the Youth Ministry umbrella and will be led by Mary Leigh Rayhab. The new Christian Formation class structure for young people is as follows:
- 3 year olds-Kindergarten: Godly Play 1
- 1st-3rd graders: Godly Play 2
- 4th-5th graders: Grape Gang
- 6th-8th graders: God Talks!
- 9th-12th graders: Rite 13
Beginning at 9:15 on Sunday mornings, Godly Play will gather in the Ann Walling Children’s Chapel; God Talks! and the Grape Gang will gather in the Youth Room; and Rite 13 will meet in the newly created library space (the rectors’ former office).
Youth Group: Young people between 7th and 12th grade are invited to come to church from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday afternoons for fun, games and a time of discussion together.
Saint David’s is currently accepting applications for a part-time Youth Director. Please visit Youth Director job description for more information.
