THE REV. CAROLYN COLEMAN HAS ACCEPTED THE CALL TO BE ST. DAVID’S NEXT RECTOR: It is with great joy, excitement, and grateful hearts that the Vestry has Called the Reverend Carolyn Coleman to be our new rector. Throughout the search process she demonstrated the ability to fulfill our three requirements of good preaching, an affinity for pastoral care, and a sense of humor, along with grace, intelligence, and genuine discernment. Carolyn’s first Sunday with us will be October 16; she will be in the church office beginning October 12. Her installation as Rector of St. David’s will be Saturday, November 5, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Please mark your calendar and plan to participate in this very special day in the life of St. David’s.
Thanks be to God! Daryl Wilkinson, Senior Warden
We’re glad that you found us
Welcome to St. David’s, a warm congregation with a variety of opportunities for worship, Christian education, nurture, service and stewardship.
We were founded more than 50 years ago as a parochial mission of neighboring St. George’s Church, but since then we have grown to around 300 members from ages 0-90+ with a variety of programs for all.
And we continue to evolve and grow as we move into our next half century.
Worship is our highest calling as Christians and we take it very seriously at St. David’s. We strictly adhere to the Book of Common Prayer using Rite II for Holy Eucharist. Our 8 a.m. service is quiet and contemplative without music. At the 10:30 service — from Rally Day to Pentecost — we benefit from an all-volunteer choir who blend their voices with the lusty singing of the congregation.
During the 10:30 service, we have a paid professional staff to care for our youngest (infants through Kindergarten). These children join their parents and caregivers just before communion. Consistency of worship, great preaching, gorgeous music and the incorporation of our children into the worship are hallmarks of our worship life.
